Ministers say School Video is the Best

Officials at the Department for Education and Skills say the video we produced for one of their flagship projects is the best they’ve seen. LookoutMedia produced the video in partnership with Deep South Media to promote the Learning and Achievement Federation (LeAF) at Oakmead College in Bournemouth. The ‘Studio School’ is the first of it’s kind in the South West and one of only 12 in the country. The comments were made in the monthly Studio School meeting with the DfES. The video is now prominent on the Studio Schools Trust website http://www.studioschoolstrust.org/

Studio Schools offer academic and vocational qualifications, but teach them in a practical and project-based way. Study is combined with paid work placements with local and national employers that are involved in the school. On this occasion it was decided that the video should be presented by the Head teacher and the school is so pleased with the result that it has now commissioned two more videos to promote different aspects of the project – to be filmed in July.

Furthermore, on a recent visit to the school, the video was highly praised by local MP Connor Burns who has recommended the video to the Secretary of State, Michael Gove.

A Century of Testimonial Videos for the University of Southampton

LookoutMedia has just completed it’s 100th short testimonial video for the University of Southampton. Over the past year we have filmed between 8-10 short interviews on occasional days for a variety of Faculties. These result in a set of 1-2 minute videos that inform potential students about life at the university.

The series have included the experiences of international students, a day in the life of a fresher and staff profiles – as seen in this example.

The short videos are proving very successful in attracting new students (and their tuition fees!) and often also include moving or still images to complement the spoken word.

They are a very cost effective way of promoting a business because it’s possible to produce ten, one minute testimonials from just one days filming (at the same location) with a typical cost of £75 per testimonial.

More University Success

One year after our first commission, LookoutMedia has completed it’s 10th video for the University of Southampton. Our latest production was for the Faculty of Health Sciences promoting its pioneering work designing technologies to improve arm and hand function.

This was a complex story that required many script re-writes and a tight shooting schedule to get it all filmed in one day using a Video Journalist. The result was shown at a major education conference and is also featuring on the department’s website.

One Million Viewers Make Client Very Happy!

Why spend tens of thousand of pounds on TV and Radio advertising when a well thought out promotional campaign can do the job for you with much more credibility and at a fraction of the cost?

On the 27th of September a combined audience of more than one million people on BBC South, ITV Meridian and BBC Radio Solent viewed/listened to our news item about Southampton’s Spire Hospital. The commission was for a Feature Video and Broadcast News Clip Reel to promote a new technique to repair damaged knee cartilage.

The resulting widespread coverage of the story was due to our extensive contacts within the BBC and ITV.

World Record Success

152 people under one shower – a new world record and nice publicity for Lynx Shower Gel! LookoutMedia produced a fun ‘lads mag’ style video for a London-based marketing company which featured on websites for The Sun, Nuts Magazine, Zoo Magazine and FHM.

A clip reel of b roll material was also produced and delivered to the BBC and ITV via a file share site. Filming, editing and delivery all achieved in one day.

Corporate Jet Promotion

LookoutMedia has just completed five videos for av8jet – a multi-million pound company that specialises in the acquisition, management and sale of high end corporate jets.

This has been a long-term project where each video promotes a different aspect of the business: About Us, Consult, Acquire, Manage, and Sell.

The client was very ‘hands on’ and is delighted with the HD results which will feature on his website and on presentation DVDs.

We’re now in the process of producing Presenter-led sales films for the company and have recently completed filming on location at Cannes in the south of France.

Hotel Refurbishment For Cancer Charity

Following the success of the corporate video we recently produced for Bennington Green, the company asked us to record its refurbishment of the Grove Hotel in Bournemouth for their clients Macmillan Caring Locally.

Part of the brief was also to produce a short video for Macmillan tracking the progress of the refurbishment of the hotel from acquisition to opening.

The hotel is now offering holiday accommodation for people with terminal illness. The video highlighting the part Bennington Green played in the project is now on their website.

Atlantic Crossing Record Attempt

LookoutMedia has produced a promotional video for the Maricuda Atlantic Challenge – a new attempt to break the record for the fastest sea crossing of the Atlantic Ocean.

The video comes four months after we first started working with the Maricuda team and it will play a significant part in raising interest and sponsorship for the project which promises to be one of the maritime and media highlights of 2013.

Building a Corporate Identity

Bennington Green is delighted with it’s new video produced by LookoutMedia. The fast-growing building surveying and design company wanted a film to feature on it’s new website.

The brief was simple – ‘put a human face on our services’. We’re now working on a second video with the aim of showing benningtongreen’s clients how the firm can manage their projects – a sort of ‘before, during and after’ case study.

9 videos for Southampton University

LookoutMedia has just completed 9 videos for Southampton University.

The commission, for the School of Humanities, was to cover an Alumni event where 8 speakers gave presentations to current students about how their Humanities degree had helped their careers.

The ninth video was a 2 minute promotion including the talks and the social event that followed. The videos are for use on the School of Humanities website.

LookoutMedia is now working on a series of promotional videos for the Communications and Marketing department at the university.
